Ok, Here I go Again! (Update, I have Chicks)

These eggs came from Miss. Jaynie in AL. She has a hatch on the same day as mine, so we are waiting to see whose start to pip first. It is so hard once you stop opening that bator to candle or anything. Dang I hate this part. But at least I am at work so I can't sit over the bator 24/7. I will let you know as things progress.

Ran home for lunch and I can hear peeps but not pips yet that I could see. Maybe when I get home there will be a few of them pipping or out?? Who knows. Good to hear that peep though. My youngest babies are 3 mo. now and I miss the sound of chicks.

Marie and All, I just checked my eggs and I have two pips form the giant Orpingtons. I would have thought the Sizzles or Silkies would have pipped first. This is great, It is a new incubator for me and I am so loving it. It has held temp and humidity perfectly for 20 days. If anyone has an opportunity to get a Lyon TX6, I can't say enough good things about it. It has actually been boring waiting with nothing to tweak or adjust. LOL

Howdy Ho there neighbor!!!
Sounds exciting Marie,
Let us know how it turns out.

I got a bakers dozen on ebay and have them in my bator now. This is my first go at this and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I got 3 leghorns and the rest are buff orphs, black sex link and RIRs. They should hatch about the 6th of October. I want to get some ee's also.

Well, I have three dry chicks and nothing else so far. The one SF that hatched was the larger of the group of SF eggs. This guy is so tiny compared to the previous SF's I hatched but his/her egg was bigger than the rest of the sf eggs from this hatch. I think the pullet eggs are probably just too small??? Anyway, I had three of the silkies/sizzles hatch and one was very weak and sticky. He was the first to pip yesterday and had not gotten out of the shell good this morning and died. The other two said siz on the shell, one said blue siz. One is a dark grey almost black and the other is almost white. It has a yellowish blue tint but almost white.?? What color are splash when they are first hatched? Anyway, I am hoping that this little sf is a boy but if not, I think I am just going to order chicks. I just can't do the incubator thing. I get so heart broken thinking I did something wrong when they don't hatch. The rest that are in the incubator were moving a couple days ago when I took them out of the turner. Or at least I thought they were. I mean, I think I can tell that much. I don't know what happened. But at least I got three and they are healthy looking too. No rough navels and already trying to eat off the floor. That SF is so small though, smaller than the silkies. Too cute. I will try to get pics put up in the next day or two. I was us most of the night checking on them. So I feel like a zombie at work today. Thanks for your support.

Oh I am just thrilled to have them. Ms. Jaynie sent me those eggs for just the price of shipping so I still came out to the good. Thanks.
