OK, I think I have another Roo...what do you guys think?

This is a 7 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte that looks sneakily like a little boy. He also acts like a boy...frenetic and not cuddly at all. He was also facing off with the other little roo that you guys helped me "diagnose" a couple of weeks ago. OK, tell me what you think! Thanks, Melissa

I think that comb look awfully red- I'd agree it's a boy.

I'll be honest, I would wait a little longer to be sure. I have 12 SLW pullets that all looked just like that at 7 weeks. I'd post pics again at 11 weeks.

SL Wy 7 weeks cockrel

This was one of 4 I had this spring 6 hatched 4 were cockerels...I think you may have a boy there, the picture is at 7 weeks

Wyandotte can be tricky as the pullets often develop combs earlier than other breeds. At 7 weeks I would also think a rooster, but give it another week or two to see if that comb gets bigger and redder or not.

UPDATE: Now the SLW's are 10 weeks old. I have two and I can't tell whether they are cockerels or pullets. What do ya'll think?
