Hi, as you can see this will be my first post. Ive been watching, learning and researching. You are all so smart. I grew up a city kid. Moved to the suburbs 16 years ago. These are my first chickens.

4 white ones are White Rocks or Leghorns
2 black Australorp
1 RIR

Haven't quite got the hang of the sexing thing, but the two black ones were out of the straight run.

im definitley positive those are not cornish x meat birds, they are a heavy egg laying breed liek a white rock or something. if teh were meat birds there chest would be allot bigger. and there rumps would be huge. o yeah and not forget the fact that the owner of theese birds would have gone crazy after filling the feeder 3 times a day.

what you have a re all egg layibng breeds

I have an Australorp and she has no brown at all - she is a little older than yours...I second the black sex link. I believe the RIR is correct, and I think your white chickens are cornish. I don't think they are cornish X - just plain old cornish. I have a white red laced cornish...I didn't plan on a BBQ either

red sex link is a cross between a rir rooster and an white hen, black is a cross between a rir rooster and a barred rock hen. there are some other combinations. they are hybrids.
