I was thinking about that with it being for the kids. I also have cats to worry about. I am looking for a small on that is not going to kill my bank account. I only want it for the kids. My husband does not even want me to get one so I have to keep it cheap. How much would it cost to "try" to make one? Are they supper hard to make?
Thanks
Rebecca

Ok if I go to TSC will they have bators there? I would be willing to pay $ 60 something for a Brinsea Mini Eco Incubator but I would rath not have to pay for shipping.

If you lived close to me I would just let you borrow one LOL! Try posting an ad on your local craigs list. You might be surprised and get a nice used one for pretty cheap. I got my 1st styro (HB) WITH turner for $10 5 years ago

Personally I would stay away from Little Giant as they can be pretty wonky with the temps and have to be closely monitored.

Just thinking here... I would really read a lot that has been posted on the boards regarding how hard it can be to get a successful hatch. Even the experienced hatchers have problems and I would feel bad if your kids project fails and they get dud or dead chicks. Why not spend the $10 on a small group of peep? Use the selection tool that's new on the boards. Research the breeds and learn about them and then make the trip to the store and oggle and ahhh over the peeps and pick out the ones they liked and watching it grow? Most good bators are not cheap. Those little ones will require a lot of hands on work, multiple times a day and monitoring to hopefully get a successul outcome.
