ok, is this crazy???

someone told me that if turkeys are not put up out of the rain, that they will drown. i asked how that was so, and she stated that a turkey is so stupid, that they will stand out in the rain and look up. by looking up, the rain will fill their "nose", and they will drown.

I have heard that too. I have no experience with turkeys so I can't say for sure. Maybe in the "turkey" section they'll know?

My great-grandpa has told me stories of his turkeys (in the 1930s) doing that. Apparently he actually would lose turkeys that way. I don't think he would make that up... He said that they would open their mouths to drink the rain or something and drown.

Some of my family have had turkeys and they do do that they will drown! They hear thunder and look up and open their mouth and let rain fall in and drown!
