Ok, It's a fox

i just got into recreational trapping this year, but as long as our governments still support trapping i don't see it going any where (in fact my government just made cougar/mountain lion trapping legal this year)

but as a new trapper i agree, trapping is by far the hardest sport out of hunting, fishing and trapping (it takes a lot of skill and knowledge which i have none lol) and cage traps make it even harder (foxes are smart)

When I was in my 20s I trapped for profit and could make house payments with little left over but those days are gone anymore I trap to keep predator numbers under control on my properties as I own 700 acres used mostly for hunting. I have 3 daughters two of which like to hunt but have no interest in trapping however I have one highschool neighbor boy who I have been teaching to trap so my old self doesn't have to ! Our winters aren't as cold as they use to be but my old bones don't seem to know that .

Make sure that you have a fence running underneath the coop so that a fox can’t dig up into the coop. :wee

Wow. I didn’t know raccoons would work together like that?

I once saw a group of coons split up as they were headed towards some picnickers. A group went into the woods behind the family and a couple of coons went up to the family and started begging. As the family was distracted feeding the two coons, the others came out of the woods and stole a bunch of food. Then they all fled together. Pretty clever.

I inspected the cage, figuring he bent the thin plate that springs down to trap them. Seen him pulling on it on video. Nope....broke out of the back of the cage. Welded wire broke loose in 3 places and a few of those cheap clips they use to keep cage together was sprung. I am impresses with a Raccoons strength !!
