OK, it's official, Coturnix ARE as tame, at least, as chickens!

Honestly, I think if someone were to follow this discussion board for long enough, they would have more vicarious experience than many breeders. This discussion board is far more useful and informative than any print books if you know how to learn selectively, taking each poster's context, background and references into account. Specifically, I'm thinking of Wikipedia, and the internet at large. We adapt to having to mine those bits of gold out of the slush of misinformation and we learn how to recognize objective data from bias, etc.

What I'm saying is, Miss Fluffy Puffy could very well be an expert in coturnix for all I know. It is certainly possible. That aside, there was a time when I was soaking up information on discussion boards about the raw/natural diet for dogs. The more you learn, the more enthusiastic you become and this often leads to giving others well-intentioned advice. Firsthand experience isn't always required. If you know something based on thousands of cases of anecdotal evidence, it is quite reasonable to pass on your research to others who are just starting out.

And sure, there will always be people like me who, while they are beginners, still offer advice whenever the situation presents.

Well done!

My apologies to Ms, Fluffy Puffy and for any thread hijacking, that may have happened!

Not what I would call a "Lap bird" but the jumbo versions could be excellent pets. They are also great egg producers (I haven't bought a chicken egg in over 3 years) and they are also tasty in a frying pan.

A good dual use bird...They are also very brooder friendly as far as game birds go.
