Ok, just HOW BAD is the LG bator?

So far I like mine. I have heard all kinds of opinions though!

I have two and like them. Takes a little while to figure out how far to turn the knob to adjust and how much water to put in to get the right humidity, but once you get the hang of it, it works great. I highly recommend the turner though so you don't have to open it. Once you get the temp set where you want it and don't open it, it's fine.

Oh 'm so glad you posted this I had the same issues. I ended up buying the LG yesterday and I'm getting to know it now. Hopefully I can get things stabilized and understood for next Tuesday, thats when I'd like to put eggs in.
I was worried that the LG would be a bad choice, hope is restored!

Does anyone have experience with adding a computer fan to their still air? How do you do it?

Thanks everyone, and thanks for the link PC. I'm going to get one and try it

This is scary!

good luck they can be ok but they are alot of work as far as im concerned you have to keep a constant eye on them i had 3 and they did produce but nothing like they should have. id add a fan if possible that may help a lil but the temp flucuations are craazy they tend to spike baddddddd. i used mine for several years but never really liked it have since moved up to a hova bator genesis and will never go back. but hey u gotta start somewhere and they are cheap so good luck and wish you many great hatches.

I hated my LG. Loved my Hovabators with auto everything including the egg turner. Best money I've spent on.

My LG incubator was so bad on temps and spiked up and down even with a new thermostat. So I only use this incubator if I need to take recently hatched chicks and move them in to be warmed up for a few days so the other chicks can zipped their way out without any other chicks pestering them.

I would spend the extra money and buy the Hovabator as a first timer.

The Hova and LG are very similiar. The Hova seems to keep temp better than the
LG because of a better thermostat. Other than that they are almost identicle.

I wish you happy hatches. Remember hatching every batch is different and a new
opportunity to learn about your new bator and bring little fluffers into the world.
You will have good and bad hatches. That is OK.

Keep us posted.

P.S. I understand the Ebay thing. It just calls your name sometimes.

I had one and sold it too, I would tell an LG owner 2 things. Move the dial a tiny tiny bit at a time to adjust temps. And NEVER hatch quail in it. (unless you like chasing 50 or 60 babys around the floor) the sides on them are just too low!
