OK ... lets have an EGG COUNT

Yesterday we got 8 eggs (out of 5 golden comets and 7 EEs)! For the longest time we've only been getting 5-6 a day (5 daily from the GCs and 1 on occasion from an EE). I think maybe they heard DH and I talking about getting more chickens because they weren't laying enough to keep up with customers!

Today eight by 9:30 am out of 14, one more at 1:00 and one was on the nest. I do wish they'd break the dozen a day mark - maybe February?

They're NOT still with mommy. No it's the OTHER way around. I think a couple of my pullets might start laying within a month. Egg count for today. 1 EGG. Well at least Blueberry is laying almost everyday.

18 eggs yesterday from 29 RIRs ..... 3 degrees outside with a wind chill of -15 but a toasty 20 degrees in the coop

7 eggs out of 11 girls so far. Not too shabby! I have one that lays very late in the evening, so I expect a frozen one in the morning. She's a real oddball.
