Ok no one is answering my duckling question-any chickie people know?

Her waterer isn't excessively deep- should she be able to submerse her entire head or just her beak? They are only a few days old, I thought they weren't supposed to get too wet yet.
Maybe it is the crop suggestion because when I first grab them I have my hand over their backs and my fingers across their chests.
I don't think she's choking because she goes back to eating and drinking as soon as I put her down, she doesn't appear distressed.
Her palate appears to be fully formed, it's hard to peek in there but it looks good to me.

If you pick up a duck and its just drank a whole lot of water it will sort of vomit a little. The reason why this is oozy is cause its been mixed with its digestive fluids. And then when you pick it up the pressure against its very unprotected craw causes it to come back up. Dont worry too much about it, it doesnt really harm the duck. chickens do the same thing. its just something that you should expect if you handle them soon after drinking.

Thanks so much everyone. I was really worried! Good to know though! So when should I put a water area (for them to swim in) in their box.
