Yes I was very surprised myself!! We bought her at an animal auction as a 2 year old "spent hen" with 5 other hens. She outlived them all and was the sweetest bird. She had what we think was a stroke though - she was in her own pen with a friend so she didn't get picked on since she was an old lady and we found he paralyzed on one side unable to stand. We nursed her for a while, keeping her in the house and feeding her by hand but it became apparent that she was not going to recover. She wasn't in pain and didn't seem concerned about her dire situation but we opted to euthanize her because her condition was going down.
