get more chicks this year???? I am like an expectant parent, but only one who is able to give the kids back if I dont want them up until next Monday morning.

I have 8 hens and 1 good boy. got them last April. They are all RSL and they are allll spoiled. (Bird and the Fluffy Butts) I have a HUGE run for them, I spend mocho time with them, they are pets who happen to give me eggs. I am down to only 5 eor 6 eggs a day now. One adoptee is to old to lay, one quict in November when she got sick and hasnt given me an egg since. I wouldnt give any of them up for anything. They get free roam time almost every afternoon when I am home with them. They have a tajmahal of coops. its 8 X 12 full height shed with insulation, painted, sided, etc. I have the inside sectioned off so that the flock has a 8 X 6 section for them, and the rest is for food storage, bedding, etc. i open the entire shed up for them in the winter when its to cold to go out, so they have the entire 8 X 12 shed. I have 6 chicks on order with Meyers to be picked up next Monday morning. I am doing the typical momma shufle..... do I have enough room? Will they be able to accecpt each other? Do I have to put them into separate pens? will my Roo Bird hurt the polish hen? WIll Bird kill the polish roo? Maybe I should not get the Polish roo, only take the hen? OMG OMg OMG.... as i am running into walls, maybe I should just cancel the order and not get any this year? You are NEVER ready for kids, I know.... but but but....... ARGGGGGGGGGGGGG.....

I can only encourage you to get the new chicks.
When the chicks are as big as the adults then you can integrate them into the flock.

Do you need more eggs? Is there another reason to "rock the boat"? If you get another rooster you might have to make a separate pen for it and it's hen if there is too much fighting.

I can always use more eggs. i have so many requests for eggs, i could have a few dozen laying hens and STILL not have enough eggs. The eggs are now paying for everything they need (food, snacks, bedding, etc.) I think I am going to go ahead and do it, but only get the female polish and leave the male out. I really wanted to have a pair and maybe start breeding, but i dont want him to get beat up by my current roo. and I dont want to have to keep them separated all the time via 2 pens and 2 houses.

ok, someone just tell me to do it. that way i can blame it on you...
