Ok what to do?

Hi we have a broody with one egg that was going to hatch Fri. or Sat. Today is Sun. how long should I wait, Is there anything I can do to tell if it is even alive. I heard maybe a float test how do you do that?

You fill a contairer with 100 degree water. You place the egg in the water. Wait for egg to settle and then see if it moves. Egg should float.

What do you mean move the egg itself?

If the chick is alive inside the egg it will move and you will see it when it's in the water.
