OKAY--I WANT: A Rare Breed that ranges well, is thrifty, more...(WA)

Well if I was not so attached to my sumatras...I'd try them.

They seem to be good survivors. Games as in Shamos? Or Assels?

Games as in Old english or pit games (thats what the guy told me mine were ) But i just like them to have running around . They mothers make great broodies and they come in all kinds of cool colors and some have rose combs so they are good in cold weather

no, but will be getting some soon. I just moved them to a new coop/run. Do you want pics of just the cockerals? I need to get pics of them anyway so I can get help deciding which 2 of the 5 to keep. I am pretty bummed though cuz I only got 2 pullets. The breeder offered me more eggs for free but I promised dh no eggs until one of the silkies gets broody

Hatch chickens are good at avoiding predators, but you can only have one roo. They are what I use for free range. Your climate sounds ridicolous, though. 110 and -20? how does anything tolerate that?

We have a silver spangled hamburg (SSH) and she fits all the categories. They are very active so let them free range.

BTW, I love your avatar, equibling!! What kind of chicken is it??
