Okay need help! Bought rooster & hen yesterday NEW PICS & OF MY CHICKS

Word of warning..... if you get Diatomaceous Earth, it MUST be Food Grade, not the regular pool filter stuff. It will work to kill bugs, but if the infestation is bad, you can also get poultry dust at the feedstore or 5% Sevin dust, which many use though I do not, and powder under wings and around the tush, avoiding the eyes.

Okay the white rooster & the speckled hen is the ones I got from the flea market...the other 6 at the top of the coop are the chicks, that were completely healthy when I got them...I put my small chick water & food bowls up their, in case they were scared to come down to get food. One of the Leghorns though, was brave & was down their with them today, I was happy to see that...but then again if the rooster & hen have any parasites, I don't want them to get them...but I want to treat them all anyway...can someone please provide me with an online store, that I can buy the medicine stuff at? Do they have like a fogger, so that it will go all in your coop?

oh btw you have a buff silkie mix of some sort (roo) I would say 2 years old maybe and a barred rock hen.

I don't know if you would wash a chicken or Rooster unless you were going to show it - but with my other pets - I discovered Dawn dishwashing detergent kills fleas after about 5 minutes of suds. I had to wash rinse repeat for a couple of weeks but - It was a miracle because everything else didn't work.

Diatemacious earth- (sorry butchered spelling) is the main ingredient for most carpet flea products and here is recommended for chickens dust bath. Even my cats like to roll in it. Also kills critters.

I live in Jacksonville Florida and went into our apartment flea free but had the worst flea problem on the planet - funny just after they rented to a zillion Fraternity boys!!!!!

We moved into the new place - I did everything not to transfer fleas here but here they came anyway. After battling fleas for a year - knock on wood - we seem to nolonger have fleas on any of the animals nor in the house! I was about to make everyone wear flea collars including the kids!!!! Just kidding!

If your chickens are pets and not for eggs - I would give them garlic too.
