My DH is half Blackfeet...the Blackfoot language is spoken of course and it is a toughie for me. LOL

It is pronouced Be Dan O Wa

that language gets me because of the double vowels and double consanants that do not sound remotely as they are pronouced in Tsalagi or English. LOL

How fun! The language seems so musical to me.

Ah, double vowels and double consonants... I have been studying Japanese on my own for a while and they have those in their language, too. It's so different than in English because we don't have anything like that at all in English, except for maybe the words "to" and "too." Those I think are pronounced a little differently from each other (holding the vowel sound a bit longer in "too"), but it's not like pronouncing them both the same changes the word's meaning (in Japanese it would).

Japanese is a wonderful language...I was once fairly fluent but I would be lucky to find a cab today. LOL

Tsalagi can be much like that...the same word or words are used to say the same thing but the way it is said makes the difference. Like saying "I Love You" to a spouse vs a parent.
