We're starting to play hide and seek with Jax. I hide somewhere on his walk route and Daddy has him seek me.
Good activity or not something we want to teach him?

Yeah, we're just frustrated by the lack of formal training available around here. We're doing the best we can on our own.

We played this with our dogs! Its a great game. DH got his feelings hurt when I asked one of my b*tches "Where's Daddy?" and she basically responded "Who cares?" and wanted to continue her walk rather than look for him. So DH wouldn't play anymore.
Aaaaaawwwwww, doggy hurt Sweetie's feeeeeewings.

We only did it a couple of times per walk, so basically the dogs just had to scent back to where DH left us.

I go thru the same thing with my DH. Jax prefers me. Build a bridge and get over it already.

You can get a Canine Good Citizenship with very little training. All you need is very basic obedience and a good temperament. I got a CGC on Maggie, our wild child, at a conformation show where a CGC just happened to be offered. She passed with no formal training whatsoever. It was her first title.

You must be a HECK of a trainer GAChnGirl to have gotten a CGC on a pug! I'm impressed!

She failed the first time.. she wouldn't lay down now she does anything i say!! i'm trying to get her in to agility and she is going to get her therapy certification as soon as there is another test in my area, she was pretty easy to train but my other 2 pugs are total spaz!!! she also enjoys swimming!! she is not the everyday pug!!!
