SO I KINDA GOOFED. I put my eggs is March 19th and figured lock down days would be April 7th-9th, BUT APPARENTLY it's actually starting right now (6th-8th). Now this isn't actually a huge issue bc simple I just raise the humidity and do everything I did last time I hatched eggs.

However, now I've got less time to figure out what to do with my late developing egg!!
(refer to this post).

All eggs I just candled (bc i got the date a day late) and there is movement and action in all of them except the egg I talked about in my last post that is no where near ready. What can I do??

Lockdown is what the normal eggs need, so I think that's what you should do.

There's no good way to tell what the slow egg needs, so I would just treat it the same as the rest and hope for the best. But I would mark it, if you didn't already, so you can easily tell which one it is even if the other chicks re-arrange the eggs.

When the other eggs have all hatched, or when you give up on them, you should probably candle the late one again and see how it's doing (unless it has hatched by then.)

I actually have an update:

So since I couldn't exactly postpone the hatching of the other eggs I commenced with the lockdown, however I made the decision to continue turning the one egg manually every 4hrs (which ik is very bad- I mean it's called lockdown for a reason but I wasn't about to leave this egg hangin'). When I noticed the first 2 eggs piped I stopped turning the egg and left it alone.

Fast forward >> All the eggs hatched with no issues! The late grower even turned out to be one of the first ones to hatch (3rd out of 5).

Since they all hatched, I think you made a good decision about how to handle it!

I don't know why that egg looked delayed, given that it actually hatched on time
