Much to my absolute amazement

These eggs are pipping!!

The mom is barely on these but it's hot and they are gonna hatch!

She's nowhere near the nest. Should I be here when they do to protect them from passerby chickens??

Do you have an incubator? If not do you have a heat lamp? if you have a heat lamp you can make a little nest inside your house and make the temp to about 99 degrees F and put a small container of water nearby so that the humidity stays high. If you have an Incubator do the same things that you would with any other eggs during lockdown.

Yes I do have one that just finished. I have to clean it. I'll do that now!! Good idea thank you I didn't even think of that!!

Incubator right?
Yes! A 360. Used it a few times it's already clean and set up and it's hot as hell here so it's already up to temp lol

The mama has only been on those eggs at night. She is helping brood another set of babies that hatched 2 weeks ago 1 week after she went broody

For 2 weeks I haven't seen her on during the day but 2-3 other chickens have set there to lay (I've removed those eggs daily)

I did.NOT expect them to live!!

They were cheeping when I brought them inside. I hope they do alright!!!! 😍

that's a new one on me - we don't get those kind of temperatures here! Have you completely given up on the 2-broods broody? If you take the eggs and put them in an incubator, you will simultaneously cut her off from them. Maybe confining her in with them would be an alternative plan of action?

The setter and ginger are all brooding the 8 hatchlings from Tilly with Tilly and all 3 of them are so freaking happy it's so cute

The babies LOVE Harriet and listen to her as well as Tilly. Ginger they just kinda tolerate lol

So I'd really really upset Harriet if I took her away from those 8. She thinks they are hers as well.
