Okay trying again...

I agree. It has the comb of the Rock. It just needs another year or two to fill out and get it's pretty tail feathers.

Nice roo!

Not a rock. Look at the picture on McMurray's website. It doesn't have lacing on the chest.

I agree with Silver Laced Wyandotte with a single comb.

Well... looking again, I'm thinking I'm leaning towards the wyandotte... if he had a rose comb that would be exactly what he looks like!

How fun. Are they brown egg layers? I've only dealt with the bantam variety of them and just because my parents have some. Maybe I should look at adding some of them to the herd this fall!

Nice roo!

Even though it's laced not pencilled?

How about the silver pencilaced wyanrock?

What about a Rockndotte?

Rockndotte? Now that might be a breed worth trying...

Yes- wyandottes are great brown egg layers. The hens are friendly- not as much as Orpingtons or Rocks- but they make a pretty flock. He's a nice looking rooster- and I LIKE the single comb! The reason I never really "fell for" wyandottes and got more is because I don't like the comb.
