Okay, wait....breed, age, sex? Confused!

EEs are mutts; technically anything could happen. They do look a bit like Welsummers or something along those lines though.

yes, technically they are mutts, but they still have loose guidelines, not many have straight combs and if they do they have the muff/beard. EE's may be mutts but most mutts aren't EE's

Thanks for all the info everyone who guessed! I have thought Crockpot (can i rename him Cockpot, ha ha hahaha) was a roo from day 1....I only bought him to keep Stew company.....I'm hoping Stew is acutally a....Stella.......

I want Stew to be a pullet....not only because I don't need ANY roosters, let alone TWO....but also because I want her to lay an egg so I can see what color it is!

While EE are "mutts", yes these are looking more and more like MUTT/EE. Super mutt chickens. They fit right into my mutt animal household (2 shepherd mixes, 1 DSH mutt cat, 1 quarter horse mix....one poodle who thinks she is a pitbull).

I'll take more pics next week......I think the best part of chickens is seeing them change as babies! Especially when you are not sure what to expect.

I want to breed mutt chickens just to see what they come out looking like! Ha!

Well, here we are a week later. Crockpot is DEFINITELY a Rooster.....Stew is still looking like a pullet. However, they do jump and "fight" with each other. Would a hen fight back if a Rooster was doing that? Is that common with youngsters?

Crazy Crockpot

So what do you think? They are from the same "batch". Would Stew be looking more like Crockpot if he/she was a roo or could it be a late bloomer?

Okay, I'm thinking it is pretty set in stone now.

Crockpot = Rooster

They look so different!

And yet....

Sometimes they don't....

Girly again.

Her comb and waddles are turning reddish...but are smaller. They look more and more like RIR crosses every day (supposed to be EE).

Top view.

Stew(pot) sure looks like a hen here!

They are approximately 6 weeks old now...Right around there.

my birds are still to small to tell, i have 9 RIR's and 3 bantams hope i get all girls, cause I'm going to eat all the boys i get. Good luck with the EE's from stew

Thanks TCWK!

On a sidenote....for 6 week olds...they sure seem well feathered. I look at other people's six week old chicks and they still look like vultures.

What's the deal? Why do mine look like "real chickens" already? They have started the normal chicken sounds also. No crowing yet, but clucking....
