***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Jack talked to Jerry at Blanchard. Sounds like there will be ALOT of birds there tomorrow night. I'm not surpizes with the weather as nice as it is. Tonight I sat in the big pen watching the youngsters for about an hour.
I got some poultry fencing ant T-post and put up a run around my poor vegetable garden. It adjoins the grow-out pen and all I need to do is prop open the gate. Sure doesn't look like a disaster now. It is a very popular spot for the feathered crowd. This is the first time I have had birds out semi-free ranging. I'm watching for the big owls!

You are most welcome. Was glad to help out. You could have knocked me over with the proverbial feather when I heard the results. I hope the kids had a good time and learned a lot. RB

they have been working these birds over for days and took out of school to help out in the poultry barn as well. This has done them and the hobby a world of good.

That's how our lab/rot came to be named Little bug. The previous owners (who left her to starve literally) called her Lilly Bud, well I never met a rott that looked like a LILLY anything (flowy, dainty) and didn't want to call her the same thing b/c of the abuse and neglect, but she was fully grown over 8 y/o so had to call her something similar.

Hello Everybody!!!

Carl, congrats to you and the kids for a successful showing.

Well Harley is doing much better today. Even though I have syringed him a few times to try to bulk him up, he is eating and drinking on his own. It appears he lost about 7lbs, he really did not have to loose, but I have never had a problem putting weight on...my animals. hehehe Okay and myself, I'll admit it.

Planning on going to Blanchard tomorrow and very excited. After this last week it will be nice just hanging out with everyone. I have some roosters I need to get rid of but I think I will wait til next auction. Just too tired and have too much to do to round up a bunch of spoiled, uppity roosters.

Hope to see a lot of BYCers at the auction tomorrow night. Going to head to bed so I can get up and do some house cleaning before heading to Blanchard. Place kinda got to be a mess this week.

Our dog was "Chewy" at his old, miserable home. That isn't short for Chewbaca but means "Dirty old man" in Spanish, (our neighbors aren't Hispanic) "Louie" sounds alot like "Chewy" and fits his personality alot better.
