Now that I think about it, you're probably right. There have been LOTS of skunks around lately. I didn't realize that they would go after chickens, though. Thanks for the tip about the apron. I'll have to work on that tomorrow.

I've gotten wild bird seed with weevils in it before but don't remember where I bought it. It's been sitting in storage somewhere for awhile if there are bugs in feed or seed bags. Very frustrating.
I wonder if adding DE to it would get rid of the bugs. The nutritional value of the feed has probably declined if it's that old, though.

We used to bury all our perimeter fencing, but since we learned of aprons, that's all we do and haven't had any predators at all. (plus it's easier to install an apron vs. digging 12-18 inches)
Our aprons are all 2"x4" welded wire 18"wide and use the metal clips that you make cages out of to attach to the fencing and staple around the building too. definitely stake it down; most already has ground cover grown through so you can't even see that they are there now.
Sorry it took so long to get pictures posted for the Green Country Poultry Swap. I'm uploading them now, one by one. It's taking minutes for each to upload, so please be patient. I have more on my phone, but I've got to find the cable to be able to upload those, so maybe my phone photos will be posted tomorrow.
This first photo was taken during the raffle. Item number two in the raffle was the chicken hat I made. One of Joe's boys won it. Joe was a sport and modeled the hat for us.

Michael as always was good to see you yesterday. I have milked the little doe twice today and have fresh milk in the icebox (ya I still call it an icebox). I dont think she has ever been milked but I sure am sold on them little drarf goats now because she aint big enough to be hard to handle on the bench for milking. Anyway about your idea here. I think it would be great and after we get the move done I would love to talk to you and others about it in some detail. Back about 7 or 8 years ago I rented a booth at the Okla FFA convention where they set up all there neat ag stuff. I was promoting pigeons for the NPA to the FFA kids. I think this would be a great idea. With more and more youth living in the city it would be a good way to promote poultry to them as a new ag project. At the fair would be great to help introduce poultry to young and old alike. Heck 2 or three people with some nice displays and some lit. could set up at a busy mall (with owner permission of course) and you would be suprised how much promoting and questions a person could do there. Count me in, like I said after the move I am all you guys if you want to pursue this. Guy
There were a lot of great raffle prizes donated to the swap. I'm kicking myself now for not putting in a bunch of tickets for this super nice show box.
I really liked the cages, too, but they went home with someone else.
This beautiful pair of Coronation Sussex, I'm thrilled to say, are now occupying space in a pen in my barn. They coo like doves when you hold them.
I'm off to find the cord so I can download pictures from my phone.

Maybe we could start by making pamplets people at swap meets or town festivals or other types of shows would have access to them. Like if u know someone who works a booth at some special event ask them if they would let us put some pamplets where people would have access to them, At resturaunts or stores.
