I must check on them at least 10 times a day.

Wait until they hatch and recognize your voice through the lid of the incubator! That was the most awesome thing in the world to me. Just like when my kids were born and recognized my voice. The baby chicks craned their little tiny weak necks trying to see me cuz they heard my voice lol

Yes Wayne, it is a great looking quilt. You should post it on the quilting thread over in the hobby section also. There are many quilting folks over there...men and women...who appreciate the time it takes to make a quilt! Note the link in my signature that has all kinds of sources for quilts stuff including the site where you found your pattern.

Thank you to all those who tolerated and recognized my rant as a scream of frustration! It was twice that long until I went back and edited it.

Update on MIL. She is still in some pain and nausea ridden, but new meds are helping with that. The good news is there is a new pain management doctor who is really connecting with the MIL and the family and is willing to get the pain under control and look for the cause. She has already reviewed all the tests results from last week and last night, has already contacted the other "specialists" and has spent time examining MIL.
Appears there is more going on than a pinched nerve in her lower back. Many years ago she had ulcers and had her gall bladder removed. Seems to suggest that the pain she feels is similiar so test will be done to scope the stomach and GI. She has had a hysterectomy and an apendectomy...not much left inside. New doctor is a woman and seems to understand the the physiology of a woman is not the same as that of a man...we have different pains.
(Talked with the pain management doctor's office and lit a fire under them...they had not even ordered copies of her last series of tests from her last week's stay in the hospital. His plan on Wednesday was going to be to simply assess her and order more tests. They will come to the hospital tomorrow to give her a therapy session on her back with a family member present.)

As for the refusal to renew the Loratab prescription..."elderly patients have reactions to the narcotic and it's hard on their liver"...not a justification for doing nothing.

We have set up a rotation system among the children and adult grandchildren to have someone in the room with MIL for the duration of the stay and a notebook is in the room for taking notations from doctor visits. We won't stand for anyone dropping the ball again.

I am glad to hear that you WILL reach a resolution for her... unfortunately it often requires drastic measures and creating accountability to accomplish anything. She is truly fortunate to have such a caring family and must be one extraordinary woman.
