***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good improv on the pen.

Yes, our dogs get extra goodies on their food too. That's why Gracie weighs in at 50 pounds and Red is 83.4 pounds. Big babies.

No egg yet, but she is not in distress even dropped a nice poop while I was out checking on her. Made her a floor roost from some short pieces of 2 x 4 and she is off the floor...happy as a clam. If ImaJean becomes distressed, mineral oil and a warm bath is in the plan. Everything is ready in the barn. All I need to do is bring out the warm water.

Yea, well I haven't told mine that yours get heated homemade scratch on cold mornings either. I'd appreciate it if your birds would keep that info to themselves.
You've made the rest of us look bad

What's really bad is I do something similar with the dogs. Cook a 10 lb bag of chicken in the crockpot all day, pull the bones out, glop a bit onto their food in the winter.

My animals eat WAY BETTER than I do. Reminds me, gotta figure out what's for dinner.

I fed my dogs a raw diet for a couple years. They can eat raw chicken just fine, bones and all. The bones are plenty soft for them to crunch up as long as you don't cook them. Same with pork neck bones, turkey bones, all bones. It got way too hard to buy and store it in bulk because I had too many dogs to do it easily. Their stomach acids kill any bacteria in the meat.

When it was 115 out I said I wouldn't complain about the cold-- but oh my the wind is making it cold!

Tried to pick a volunteer melon today-- had all the ripe signs but wasn't ripe!!! The birds still enjoyed it. I will wait another week & sample another. Have close to 40 melons that look like they will come ready at the same time-- if the frost holds off.

Also got a Johnnys catalog in the mail! Didn't even make it half way through the book yet, think it will be my nighttime reading.

I heard soaking them in warm water helps to relax them.

i always give them a warm bath and add tums to their drinking water, the calcium helps them relax and gives them a calcium boost

mitzi- ummm..... my banty cochins fly- if they are in a rush to get somewhere. My red sat in my lap all afternoon while i worked - head tucked under my elbow- i love the pen you made your girl...
