How soft is it?

Haven't looked since I put the jars up last night.

This morning, I figured if they didn't set, I'll try to process it again in different jars etc like recommended all over the net, and if it doesn't set then, I'll put it all in a big jar and lable it "apple pancake syrup".

Sometimes it can take a week or more to set. But if it was very liquidy when you were done then it probably isnt going to set... I did the same thing.

Hey Michael,
Grace is going to take a load of birds to the Durant auction tonight so I will try to take a few pictures and post them.
We are going to be thinning out for the winter and we are looking for a place to live in the Duncan area. My company has been wanting me to move for the last few years and it looks like Grace will be starting with our company in December so we really have to move now. Hopefully we can find a place to rent, at least for the winter, until we can find a place out of town. Anyway it will be an exciting time and I kind of look forward to being in the office for a while. I have been on the road a lot for the last 15 years. The last few years I have been able to work out of my home office but it's different than working with the entire team.
You all have a wonderful day and enjoy the time God has given you.

Something funny... yesterday, after I paid bills, I logged on to Amazon to look at their "new content". I'm a prime member and have been for years, James and I share the cost. Anyway. On impulse, I looked up the name of my cat litter (which I have to use a specific brand because my daughter's cat has UTI issues). They had a 3 pack of the same cat litter for a dollar less than the price of 2 containers, and because it was prime it had free shipping. Why yes, I hit "buy", I buy two every month, and getting one free this month as well as possibly next month would mean that I don't have to pay for it for a month.

The biggest problem I have is lack of storage. I have a 700 sq foot house. One room is in the middle of the neverending remodel from hades. I'll have much better storage after that.

It was a gel-ly swish. Coated the inside of the jar, but I'm used to jams that start to set almost immediately (strawberry rhubarb is a favorite in this house). I'm pretty sure that both juice jellies aren't going to set, but I'm not going to go look for a few days.

Denial, not just a river in Egypt.

Juice jellies d take longer to gel. I always boil them twice the time recommended on the pectin package before pouring into the jars. Seems to help.

Going to Firelake for dry goods and over to Shawnee Feed on Hardesty Rd today. I want to look at some water container heaters.
Stephanie...want to meet me at the feed store for the eggs? I could call you when I get there.

Was on Amazon last night (3:30 am this morning) and saw some 32 oz nipple bottles with a built in electric heater....too expensive for my budget.
We use that electric heat tape on our house water lines in the attic ...thinking that might be good wrapped on the big plastic jugs in the hen house...just have to figure out a way to run them.

The boys are talking on the hen house expansion...they always talk out the issues/supplies needed/steps for construction before they start a project. I'm putting in suggestions about how I want it inside the hen house...I have to sit on pins and needles until they are ready to start. Since we have to move a wall of storage shelves, I may start unloading and moving stuff this afternoon. The next few days may be work-indoor-days

Glad she is home, now you can spoil her before she has to return to training!

Went out to check on the birds, almost got blown over, wind is brutal! I opened up the coops, but doubt anyone is coming out to play.

Nanakat -- it is so hard for me when I want a project done more than the man who is doing the project! Took 2 complete months to get the peafowl & guinea pen done. The birds are all moved in now & happy, but seemed like the longest wait ever!

Yesterday I discovered we have an egg eating dog.... Caught him going in again today as soon as I opened the coops up. Dh says at least it is just eggs & not chickens. Not sure if I feel the same way.

The guys are out in our front pasture going as fast as they can trying to get the last hay cut before the hard frost comes. Love how fast things can go when there is motivation! Feel very blessed we are one of the few to get 2 cuttings this yr.

Thanks for the cookie tin info. I don't have metal waterers, I'm not sure if it'd be safe to use them with plastic waterers, anyone know? Here's a link I found for 1 1/2 g heated dog bowls for $23 on Amazon.

I would think your group would be find in 100 sq ft. It's usually the winds that make it so dang unbearable. And if they're inside of a coop the wind is going to be blocked.
We got several of those oil filled heaters from WalMart last year when they were $35 and they're awesome! Nice and warm, hardly use an electricity and they're safe. I'm hanging one in each of the 2 chicken buildings about 3' up the wall with the food & water by it in the hopes it'll keep their water from freezing. It should. My precious Faverolles will have a 4'x4' coop built into one of the buildings with their own 8'x'10' pen. I'll sure sleep better knowing all the chickens are inside of an actual building. We won't dwell on the fact that I spent all my Christmas money and then some for chicken buildings and chickens pens

If not for the fact mine are actual pets I wouldn't be so concerned about it. Evidently I'm not capable of owning living creatures without going overboard and getting attached. Sigh.

Thank God for that!! I know how good you must feel to have her right there with you. Here's hoping she has an uneventful recovery.
