***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I forgot to post the photo of the peafowl at the sale in Stilwell. They sure were pretty. I would have put them into some really nice cages, though. The wire envelopes there were in hardly gave them enough space to crouch. Maybe you don't want the peafowl to move around a lot, but new wire would make a better presentation than rusty, recycled wire for the cages.

Why do always want chickens that are hard to find?

Hey Kass, I'll wave as we go past on i40! We are headed back to Tennessee. Have MIL with us,taking her back to put in reb where wife works! The "home" she was in just wasn't suitable. Wasn't a skilled care facility like it was supposed to be. She was in pain when we got there and it took 3hours to get her meds! dW was not a happy camper! Going to be a long night of driving, luckily there are three of us to change around. Should arrive in BowlingGreen,Ky about 5-7 in the morning, depending on stops!

June Bug I picked up the pair of serums that my daughter kept and am taking them home. They are the micros too, very, very tiny! iLife them to death! Theses are the ones that threw the chocolate baby.

Okla I'm

back. Drive safe, take as many breaks as you need to be safe. Sorry about your MIL your wife will be much happier when she can make sure her mom is well taken care of.

Poco, thank you for the pictures! And Okla, hope you arrive home safe and sound. I'm glad your MIL is in your hands now, it sounds. At the end of the day she needs you and you and your wife are there for her. That's what counts.
We worked on pens most the day and dividing the new wooden 8'x8' shed into separate coops. I haven't decided who's going to go where quite yet but the birds who were in the 2 areas that had sick birds are going to stay separated from everyone else. For their safety as well as the others. I'm making the top of the pens 6' tall, that might've been overkill. I'm so used to building fences for dogs that sometimes I forget the chickens aren't going to bust them down.
Poco, I've never seen such as thing as those "wire envelopes" the peafowl were in. It looked uncomfortable.

i am baaaaaakkkkkkkk.... only way i can get byc to load is to go through my phone on bluetooth...argggg... anyway... so won't be on long.... June i love those guys! how delicate are they when they are this small?

i am feeling much better after my fall- on the goose issue- i'll play it by ear, but may consider rehoming him for a less agressive gander... now the tuffted roman is a gentle lady, are the ganders also mild like her?

i have done some reading on the stunted growth of my cochin girl, apparently its not that unusual and they don't live long, so apparently she lived longer cuz i spoiled her... sigh... she was a hatchery girl

well, off to catch up a bit-

any ideas why suddenly byc and my mac aren't talking???

now this is weird- somehow the bluetooth kicked my computer into gear, turned bluetooth off and back on the satelite and everything is loading..... geeze... i am seriously addicted to byc.....

Robin - I'm happy to hear your computer issues are fixed. Maybe your gander is jealous. He's really attached to David, so maybe his behavior is normal.??? Have you asked about breed personalities on a thread that discusses geese? Maybe others have had your same problem and could give advice. I sure wanted to bid on some of the geese at the auction last night. They were all so beautiful, but not a single one was small enough to fit in any of the cages I brought. Besides, I'm supposed to be cutting back. . . This is where Joe is probably snickering. I drove home last night with 11 amazingly beautiful Dominique pullets, 5 silkie juveniles, a quad (for butcher) of fast broilers, and a barred cochin hen. I sold a pair of white Chantecler. I wasn't able to convince DH that I'd reduced my numbers

I don't have pictures of any of the new birds yet. Maybe I can do that tomorrow.
