Morning!

Michael, totally feel your pain. Unfortunately I do not want to take any more days off right now but I have a ton of stuff to get done, just not enough time to get it all done. first thing is getting the water barrels set up and steal the heated pipe wrap out of the well house. Have a heater in there to keep the pipes from freezing anyway so going to use the heater wrap where it is really needed. The rest of the stuff is going to have to wait til next paycheck.

Oh, the mini rooster is officially a classroom rooster. All the kids and most of the staff are excited to have him here. The principle being one of the most excited, keeps referring to the rooster as his.

The naming contest will be next week. I will keep you all updated on what he ends up with. Only problem I have is that when the rooster is at my desk he pecks at the keys on the computer keyboard.

If he can already type, maybe he's ready for 'higher' education. He's the first of my flock to go to school.

Thanks for chiming in. Joe and Jarvis & MJ-you guys also. On the Marans thread and the other thread I made no one could come to a conclusion. One guy said Marans have white legs and she can't even be a Marans mix because the gene is dominant. Another said that's not true at all. Allbreeds, you get $100 for 12 eggs??? Mercy, you must pack them with lottery tickets lol I'm not particularly attached to this pullet but the red Cochin bantam is and I'm attached to the red Cochin, so I guess by default this girl will stay

Robin, wheat straw is just straw. If you want oat or rye straw you have to look hard for it. You can get it anywhere, craigslist is cheapest. Mine was $7.25 a bale but it was overpriced at the feed store.

Good Morning Okies!
Crisp day ahead.
No new babies yet under NNN.
Going to run errands today and will pick up the CW at the Jarvis' Have a brooder box ready for it.

MJ..will get together to brood you baby

Lovely birds Michael. I saw on Facebook you have some listed for sale. Hope you do well with them.

Thanks Carl....will check with you when I know the details on the CH&A unit installed

For those with sleep issues Roger had three sleep studies over the past 4 years, two cpaps machines and several surgeries. We have learned that there are many causes for sleep apnea.
The Oximetry test we did last night is very simple...it's a wrist band monitor with a finger clip that he wore all night. It monitors the amount of oxygen he gets while sleeping and the doctor ordered it to help monitor whether tissue is growing back in his trachea. Future annual tests will be compared to this first one. Should that tissue begin growing again, he can go in for surgery to have it removed.
