he's not a bad dog, its like i let him off the chain in the morning, and don't see him again till dark- not sure whats up with him- would getting him fixed change that behavior?

I doubt if fixing him would slow him down much. I have a Faulkner Cur that is same way. He is awesome chicken dog (very anti varmit) but has to stay on a long cable run along intire length of one side of chicken yard. If I cut him loose, he would be doing his varmit control in the creek somewhere instead of around chickens. That is why I am getting a pup. Your dog acts like he is happy around the birds, good looking dog.
