Hey all, I am off to Chupps auction this week end looking for a Polish roo, anybody have one? needs to be black crested or laced. I have 2 hens that need a fella! also I have a trio of silver laced hamburgs I want to sell if anyone is interested. Nice looking trio less that 1 year old
Well, two of the baby chicks didn't make it thru the first night...So Lucie has three beautiful babies.
Roger and his Brother removed the top 5 feet of each chimney over the past two days...it has been a huge undertaking but the results are significant. Tomorrow they will work on welding up two covers to go on top of each one to make them waterproof. We don't use the fireplaces for burning wood sine we removed the wood stove and set up propane logs in the fireplace. Peace of mind that a chimney won't come thru the roof and ceiling for me...is Priceless!
I have auction eggs due tomorrow...have LF cochin eggs coming from Iowa...Hope they make it Friday. Don't know if the post office will deliver on Saturday. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll let you know Carl when they get here and arrange to deliver eggs for hatching. Love your help!
Lots of work today rearranging the big hen house to set up an inside pen for the Blue cochin pair. She has been laying and I've been keeping eggs. Caught the CW breeding her today....so now Delilah will be penned with one other hen. Those eggs laid will be cartoned for a week. Then Samson will be added to the pen and we should then have good cochin eggs.
Boy Nana tne Quake Reporter is on the ball tonight! Take care Red he just doesn't understand,or he understands more than we do!lol.Glad you got the chimmeny taken care of. At least that worry will go away. Man you just can't help but wonder if all these little ones are not leading up to something really major. Just been way to many in the last few months, something must be cooking.
emtdeb, good luck at the auction. Those hamburgs are hard to find around here and really sell well. I finally managed to get a young bantam pair. I sure like them, they are so flashy looking. Can't wait to get a few more hens.
During the guniea pig tradeing this week I accumalated a nice trio of buff cochin bantams. Not for sure if I will keep them. They would make good broodys tho.
Also got a beautiful little dwarf rabbit doe. She is spotted and her little ears are barely an inch long!I have a buck and five does now of dwarfs. My mini satin had her first litter this week but lost them when she forgot to pull hair for the nest.
Okladoodle...that's exctly what my hubby said.
Is this the first time your satin kindled. When I had rabbits ummmm 15 years ago, my satin never pulled hair for a nest. I always had to provide boll cotton for her.
one more note...the Mottled OEGB rooster bred the little pullet. She has been sitting in her nest box every day this week. Guess she are officially ready to start laying.
