I'm almost finished getting wood from that condemed house for my chicken coop, but the added score is I'm also taking all the windows to build a green house. I won't be able to build it right now, but I'll have the windows for this coming fall / winter. I might get to it before then but doubt it.

I've been reading a lot and watching a lot of video's about Korean Natural Farming, it has been very interesting. I'm going to try some of the ideas.

hi folks... ready for rain here- under a flood watch till wednesday nite, the ducks and geese will enjoy that...

here are the latest pics of the babies hatched from shavons hens, delivered by Deena, huge thanks to them!!!

this is Latte(MOM) and coco, the little one

The hen and chick pics are "killin" me, too cute for words -

Pictures...you asked for pictures? The garden in winter...shows work from the pat two days..moving compost, and getting beds ready for the rain.

Delilah and Mae in the dustbox

I think I'll name him Roger. I've already got a Carl (and a Rebecca). The lambs I help deliver on News Year's Eve are Joe and Josephine.

It has started raining here...love the clean smell and the sound of raindrops!

The chickens were out helping in the garden today as I hoed the weeds already blooming in the beds...lots of tasty worms and bugs surfaced. I wheeled barrows of compost to the beds and spread it and the girls were right in there kicking the fluffy compost around. One of the Minorcas got comfortable enough to take worms right out of my fingers...they are a rather flighty breed at times.

You have the luckiest chickens.

I got everyone snugged down early tonight. The wind has picked up and it feels like a storm is on the way. I didn't have much time to draw today, but I did doodle some sunflowers, so I think maybe one part of the garden I put on my beehive will have singing sunflowers. I need to figure out what to do about the bottom portion of the image. I know blue sky works well to offset the flower heads, but the ground is still a problem. I cut away the parts I didn't like. Maybe what the ground needs is brown dirt and bunches of red strawberries.

My Black Mottled
rooster, Pappy, I got at Maud. I got him to improve the type of my Mille Fleurs.
The Blue Mottled pullet that came with him. I sure didn't "need" a Blue but she is so pretty and sweet.
