***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good Morning every OKIE.

Even with precautions, I've caught Hubby's cold. The antihistamines are working so hopefully I started them early enough to avoid the sore throat.

This last week, Moved the three from NNN to the floor pen with a 100 wat light bulb and they are doing great. They have learned to scratch in the hay for treats and snuggle under the light at night.

MJ, you little Cochin roo thinks he's a big bird....he tried to pick a fight with Popeye thru the 1 inch chicken wire. Popeye is at least 6 x his size. It was so cute. He kept a vigilent guard on the line between his girls and the pen limit.

DGibson...good to see you on board. How are your chickens faring?

Good Morning.
I tend to agree with him... Just something about roaches makes my skin crawl. lol Meal worms would be fine but my mom fought roaches for years before she got them killed out.
I'm sure this has been mentioned but only 2% of the roach species are the pest kind. The other 98% do nothing but good. But just like bats they get a bad rap. The co-dependent in me always goes for the underdog though lol I suppose that's why I like feeder roaches, bats and Chow dogs :) Now mealworms.....those things creep me out! They remind me too much of maggots and that's one of the few critters that make my skin crawl.

They have generic TheraFlu at Walmart now-a lifesaver. That's the same flu/cold thing I had that lasted so long. I hadn't been sick a single day in over 3 yrs since I'd quit smoking in 08'. Then I got sick twice in a 2 month period and it about knocked me down. Strange. I sure hope you feel better. That's when me and my little Serama were curling up watching movies a lot, maybe June could spot you a Serama til you feel better? Hey-just trying to help a sister out

CARL! I'm at your mercy here. I found eggs I need hatched but the way mail works I'll get them on a Wednesday-either this Wed or next. Is that too late to run them to you to put in your incubator? Since you said you usually set on Tuesdays I wasn't sure. I just know if I try to hatch them with this Little Giant I'm going to lose them :(

Spent the morning finishing tax return stuff. Glad to say it is done, sad part is I already have a pile of this yrs receipts to organize.
Nana do you think you will be making soap to bring to POOPS??? I could use some soap. I am down to only having honey oatmeal!!!

I am hearing chirps from the hatcher! By tonight we should have fuzzy babies.

Good morning everyone! Just finished catching up with the chatter from the day before and this am.

Nana sorry you are feeling a little under the weather. I hope you get to relax with some tea and a good book.

Wow... Talk of childhood memories. Growing up I was the recipient of a few of my cousin's pranks. One time they took me into the basement, and they had an old upright piano down there. They opened up the top of the piano, stuffed me in, shut the lid, and put a box on top so I couldn't get out. Then went upstairs and a little while later said we were playing hide and seek and they couldn't find me. It took all day for the adults to find me. It wasn't pretty. I do admit though I was probably bratty and deserved it.

My mom now has that piano, and I am just waiting for her to die so I can burn it. Childhood memories indeed.

We went this am to go look at some bantams, and I wasn't really impressed with them. I think what we looked at today would of been good for pets (they were really cute), and the lady was really nice, but if we are buying show quality we need some one a little more knowledgeable. I am not 100% sure I want to get bantams anyway. I am just researching.

I didn't get lost on the drive out there, but I sure got lost on the way back home. I somehow ended up on a dead end road in the middle of BFE, and I am not good getting a sense of direction. But I eventually made it home, and my 3 girls survived the trip. :)

All this talk of keeping men inline... I think I fit right in. I'm sitting here typing away, and my hubby is sweeping the dining room floor. Earlier he did all the dishes. Now if I could keep my kids inline.

Have a great day all! I have to go move a bunch of mulch and get my daughter's hens Pullorum (sp?) tested for the spring stock show.

Blessings!

Angela

rofl!!! Our husbands are clones! Mine is 8 yrs younger, I always tell people to get them young if you want to get them trained right :)

Not a problem bring them to me when you get them. I set my eggs on tuesdays, everyone elses get set on a day that will not coincide with my hatches so nothing gets mixed up.

Thanks for asking Nanna ,my chickens are doing well, put about 130 eggs in bator last week , with the feed prices so high i dont know how weeks im going to do. Hope you and Roger have a Blessed day.
