as for coffin nails, i quit smoking 11 months ago, i gots lots a nails in my coffin!

you gonna come to pryor next month for the show? you can come up and watch me get all red faced and angry at some stupid people! might even get to see an old man get loud!

I quit here a while back for about three weeks, then that dreaded middle of the night phone call, my oldest son hit a cow and totaled his truck, met his mother and her boyfriend out there as well as steph and being out at that time of night, around 3 smokers, and agravated to no end... well needless to say I need to quit again.

You can't get too loud at the show it will cause a scene, besides if there are a bunch of or just one really bad stupid person I might need to be restrained. I can tolerate stupid, its not thier fault, it's willfull ignorance that just sets me off.
You know when someone has the resources available to them, and chooses not to use them to gain the required knowledge about subjects but still choose to spout off things that even they have to know are wrong..

you cant quit till you are realy ready, then it isnt that big a deal. you just have to be ready.

your best buddy wont be there, and the guy we talked about at your house i dont think will be there either. i think his entry got lost in the mail.

Last yr I suspected my peahen lays her eggs in her sleep. Even the egg we found last wk was near the roost. They have a perch the sit on during the day & above that is a higher roost. Today I found an egg broken on the perch. Guessing she laid it while roosting & it hit the perch. My peacock was displaying when I was checking on them. His lady went behind him & ran inside the house for cover. Think she is saying she isn't interested.
Guess we will take the perch away-- or make it smaller -- think it is 2x8 right now. Would hate for all her eggs to end up broken!

What about putting a net sling under the perch. small enough net to catch the egg, but big enough to allow poops to go thru....

I understand that one fully, it's days like this that I am glad to have Mobic, it helps but doesn't fix the problem. The real issue for me is it starts hurting a few days before the weather changes then when the weather takes that swing I don't want to move.

It's a problem when your body becomes the barometer for approaching weather.....Hate that part about getting older.

Well, gotta go for now, time to make something to eat and try to motivate myself for another night.. I hope to get some sleep tomorrow but doubtfull, I have far too much going on with a shipment due in the morning and a meeting in the afternoon that I hope pans out into something worthwhile.

well, this breeder is in Georgia, i've decided to not go for it, after reading and thinking on it- i do like their fluffiness though....

Robin you might pm bandjoe he just acquired some blue ones from a guy in Ok. He might sell some eggs cheaper or tell you who the guy is tha he got them from. They are adorable and like everything else they will eventually come down in price.

You might know the answer to this-my little Serama bites everyone but me-why does he do that? I can do anything to him and he just wants to snuggle but if my husband or daughter try to pet him he tears into them. Does he think he's protecting me? It wouldn't be funny except for the fact he's so tiny.

yep!! he has a case on you!! not surprising- watch a roo with his hens doting on him, preening cleaning his beak etc.... quite a compliment!

I smoked for 36 yrs and quit over 3 yrs ago. I hope I did myself some good.

Eprinex is used as a wormer (topical) on livestock plus for lice and mites, stick tight fleas, etc and it's excellent for that. People claim it works as a wormer on chickens also but they don't really have any basis for proof of that because I've not heard of anyone that actually tested it as a wormer on birds. I do know it works great for lice on birds though. I tested it on some birds I got at the auction. Frontline spray is already labeled for poultry and the ingredient is Fipronil. Which is what Frontline is. They've got a generic Frontline now and that's what I've got. They both work great so I'll bring both and you can decide which you want to use. You only need one or the other.

i think you made the right choice, in a year or so they will be much cheaper when everyone has them. they are very nice looking birds from what i have seen on the net.

thats the marans were when they started getting big, everyone was running around paying ridiculous prices for birds and eggs. now they dont cost anymore than regular chickens. i have started seeing it in the coronation sussex birds already, finding them for 5-10 bucks a head for 3-6 month old birds. people were paying ridiculous prices for them less than a year ago.

been doing some looking on them just for grins, i dont think they meet the american standard, so actualy not showable yet.
