***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks for the links Carl. I lost all of my favorites when my computer crashed last week. It is funny when I go to a website that I had bookmarked before, and bookmark them now. I get the popup saying I already have this bookmarked do I want to override it. But it dang sure aint in my bookmark list. Just another of the millons of things about this machine I dont understand.

No Problem Guy, there is a great article in Exhibition Poultry this month about line breeding and In-breeding well worth the read. It also covers lines crosses and outcrosses. written by a very well respected breeder

Bummer. I wish I could get to an auction. They have been too far to drive too considering how late they start. Good luck to you this weekend.

Check with Michael,
Its not a bad drive from lawton to his place, just 44 north to chickasha then east to anadarko. I would bet he has some Barred Rocks he always has a great selection and is one of few I would be interested in buying something from if I wanted a layer flock of to add to a breeding program.

I don't think I can handle 100, even for a little while. I did see small order specials on a few sites. I would rather get them locally, but if that's not possible I will order online. I'm not picky about the breed as long as they're heat and cold hearty. I would like Barred Rocks, but I don't have to have them. Older pullets instead of chicks are better, but I know they're harder to find.

You need to look into Naked Necks. They are heat and cold hardy. Lay a good big egg and have some meat on their bones. And they are so dang pretty.

Do an ad on Craigslist for what you want from the areas you'd like to get them, I'll bet you can find some! I have d'uccles, bantam cochins and blue/splash Langshans going to hatch this week, next week and the week after...I am in seminole?

How do we get a hold of Micheal and where is more information on the auction? Thanks for posting.
