***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Kass my curisoty is getting the best of me,what type of building is that behind you in the Gpa picture? The windows make it look like a house but I never saw one built out of a qunset type building before!

hi folks! got a question- if a breed is scarce, would that be a breed to invest in to sell eggs from?? trying to decide if that might be a direction to consider- i was thinking of mitzies favs?? or carls bantam dottes??

I noticed that too, but didn't want to mention it.

yes and no,first there is a reason it is scarce.mabey nobody wants it, or mabey it is prone to health issues.

second, if it is scarce here, is it scarce there. some rare breeds arent realy rare everywhere.

Ksane, my hubby would never let me build a pen, if I try to work on most things he immediately takes over so it can be done his way. I am the one that gets to hold things in place, fetch tools, measure & make cuts when it isn't convenient for him to walk over to the saw & clean up messes. He does allow me to lay tile paint without interupting, but only if he has another project going on.
Must be nice! But I'm the perfectionist and my husband is the one who throws things together, so I'd be in the background having fits if he was building something knowing I'd have to redo the whole thing

To me it would be a hassle to have to talk to people about them, make arrangements, pack them up, listen to all the complaints, etc etc. But then again some people actually seem to LIKE doing those sorts of things. So I guess it would depend on whether you liked doing things like that and talking to people. I'd almost sooner take a bullet than talk to people I don't know lol

Thought I'd share some good news with you'al, with Poultry and Bees patience and willingness to answer questions, she helped us through a process.

We got our aviary facilities inspected by an Okmulgee County Game Warden, went to OKC today to turn all the paperwork, and now have our "Commercial Wildlife Breeder's License" through Oklahoma's Dept of Wildlife and Conservation. We will start building our flocks of multiple native upland game bird species starting with quail and pheasants, hoping at some point to get into chukars and grouse as well.

On Sunday we go through our initial NPIP cert...so every bird has to be tested over 4 months...not looking forward to that...close to 150 birds here meet that criteria. (so glad they don't do chicks)

Anyway, just wanted to share and give a big thanks to Maribeth!

Ya'all have good night!

Bill
