***OKIES in the BYC III ***

No chicks for me this weekend.

Friday I picked up supplies at Atwoods and cooed at the chicks, we couldn't get any though because the brooder wasn't ready and we were going out to eat so they would have gotten cold. Saturday I build the brooder. Today Atwoods only have a few banty chicks left. I want a mix and would rather get them all at once.

The guy at Atwoods said they would get more chicks in on Tuesday or Wednesday. So I'll get some by Friday. :)

out of the 3 sick hens, 2 are improving, my ee is still just fading on me, what can i feed her to build up her strength? so far she has turned down scrambled eggs, crumbles, nothing interests her...

Robin is she still drinking? If she is try some Gatorade or Pedialite cut 50/50 with water. The extra sugars and electrolytes should perk her up.

Another thing to try is elbow noodles, they are high in carbs and will give her more strength.

That's what I was wondering about. The demos online and the reviews make it sound like it'll fall apart without a true floor, but I don't know what I'd use given the circumstances.

You could build a base out of 4x4s. That will both give a solid base and hold the metal up off of the ground.

Taking a quick planting break, don't think I'm going to get as much planted today as I had planned, that is a chronic problem w/ me biting off more then I have time to chew! Working on the asparagus right now, but have tonnes more to do.

While we (me and the chickens) were planting the asparagus (read digging out runner grass roots) I had a little conversation w/ them. I was tellling them there are people out there that keep chickens to .......................... (gulp) eat!!!! instead of gardening. I let on I may consider this possibility if I'm still digging runner grass roots next year. They didn't look to nervous.

Loved the date on the picture 2/32/12. Love my Kubota.

Thank you for the sweet notes on my Sis. She is younger than me and having a heart attack...really helps you set your priorities! The doctor submitted to her begging to be allowed to go home a day early as long as she watched the incision and calls him on Monday.

Aren't you guys funny! Mezford was his self yesterday & was proud to announce that only two of the juniors were shorter than me! Good thing I like being short! You will have to come up with new material
