***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Morning Metzford!!!

The rain is finally slowing some, not holding my breath that it will stay that way. My garden was still there but couldn't tell if there was any damage to the plants but lots of standing water.

So sorry Flo didn't make it. I thought she had a chance from your description. Was she the one in your Avatar? She was a beautiful blue partridge.

So sorry to hear about Flo. It is so hard to lose one with such a sweet personality.

We are supposed to get scattered showers today. It has stopped for now here. With all the thunder and lightening we got last night, the gardens got a lot of nitrogen.

The boys are out feeding and putting out hay. Hope no calves were born in the mud The garden here is okay; a little soggy in places, but the plants look good. Was able to pick a few spears of asparagus. I got the house work done this morning and have a few loads of laundry going.

Can everyone say mud boots?

Late morning, everyone.

When I checked the new (old) metal brooder in the barn, I was happy to see thirty little sleeping fluff balls. Some were using others as pillows, and others were stretched out on their sides or tummies, beaks resting on the wire floor. I was quiet and didn't wake them. There is still plenty of room in that brooder, but I'm not going to put any more babies in. I want the group that's in there to enjoy being able to move around freely.

Be careful on the roads. We've got water crossing our dirt roads in three directions. DH took the Dodge today because he knew he wouldn't be able to get to work in the Insight. With a 3" clearance, he would have been stranded just backing out of the garage, because there's a deep puddle between the driveway and the shop.

So sorry Robin! I know you will miss her.

I am still trying to talk myself into getting started on chores. Stayed up late grading papers for DH trainees. After 200+ test I can say without a doubt I don't want to get on the battlefield with 90% of them! They all want to put a tourniquet on to stop bleeding as the first step & these are soldiers with mostly medical related jobs!

I think I will go check the animals then began working on garden stuff.
