***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Here are some close ups of poop in question, I couldn't tell if it was a worm, it didn't move, but was partiallly dried out. Green liquid poop and this??????

Is it even possible for a new hatched chick to have a worm that long???? Wouldn't it take longer to grow that size then the chick has been alive????

Newly hatched chickes have green poop, kinda like a new babie has blackish/green. I usually do sugar water with new chicks so I don't know if honey would bother them......Did they spend along time in shipping?

Worms have a life cycle and the little guy hasn't been alive long enough for the cycle to have been completed. I'd say with 99.9% certainty that it's not a worm. More likely it's just mucous from his intestinal lining that partially dried out.

Gary said they were shipped on Wend and we got them Sat. not sure where he got the Wend date, maybe from the box itself as we haven't actually spoken to anyone at the hatchery yet, called a couple of times but still no response.

I am sorry about your chicks. I had that happen once, it was very upsetting. The hatcheries are difficult to get ahold of sometimes. If you call their ordering department and have them transfer you. Sometimes these hatcheries have poor customer service. I have never ordered chicks from Ceder Creek. Hopefully they make good on their order.

I'm not sure I would bother ordering from them again if I can't get a return phone call. The only hatchery I have ever used was McMurry & they are great.
