***OKIES in the BYC III ***

So my chicken fever has now evalved a bit further. It has now reached the point that i am look at materials people set out for large trash to see if it can be used in coop construction. I'll just keep telling my self i dont have a problem im being cost effective this way and recycling. Thats good for all right!

Recycling is good! The first is a recycled upright parrot cage and the second one is two views of the same coop made from recycled pallet wood and some plywood.

Ha! What? You want me to tell you "Go to Home Depot. Pay full price! Your chickens deserve the BEST!" No, I'll just keep enabling in my own way. Did you know someone made an awesome brooder out of a chest of drawers they found in the big trash? Seriously! I saw it on Google!

Finally home, man sitting around all day doing nothing can be exhasting!!! Mom is settled in ICU finally after waiting for 4 hours waiting on a bed to open up. Will be back up there tomorrow. Got home to 15 guineas hatched out and one more mostly out. None of the others are even pipped so I will wait and see how they go tomorrow since tomorrow is hatch day. My hatch of chicks should hatch on Sunday so hopefully I will be home for that hatch. But if they are like all the others they will hatch tomorrow or early Sat. I don't think I will make it to Newcastle on Sat. Mom will still be at OU Med more than likely and I don't see hubby making that trip even though I have birds I was planning on taking since we know what we are keeping for next year.

I love seeing the recycled coops! We have one out of recycled pallets and then our big breeding pens are made all from recycled fence panels out of a neighbors burn pile.

Well hope to get online tomorrow but the connection up at the hospital is spotty at best and I don't have any reception in the ICU waiting room.

So it is official, I will be going on the 16th!

Thanks to Elie Mea we have a working refrigerator! She is also going to help us try and find a stove we need. The main thing was the fridge. I can live without an oven for a bit. Anyone interested in some hairbows?? Gonna try and find some chicken designs to make for the 16th.

We are making a big coop (big for us) out of mostly recycled stuff from a condemed house, and pallets. We had to buy the hardware, hardware cloth, and roofing paper, but everything else has been recycled. Which reminds me I need to post some updated pics of the progress we've made, when I get home.

Yeah! So it will be us 4!

I just saw an awesome video on utube called the chicken tunnel man. This guy created tunnels throughout his yard and garden that he wanted the chickens to weed and eat the insects out of as well as fertilize and then he would move the tunnel over and plant that area. Really interesting.
