***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Argh, looks like I'm going with the LS-50, since I can get it for $30 vs $60 for denagard. Unless someone knows where I can get either of them locally? By the time it gets shipped here I'm sure the turkey in question will probably be dead, so part of me thinks why bother...... grrrr....
Smith poultry supply up in Ks. has overnight shipping but it would be morning before you could order from them. When you call there you are talking to the owners of the company, and they are very helpful and nice too.

Are The Insigns have an auction at the ranch NE of Pawnee now??? Or is it somewhere else? What day and where is their auction!!! Lynn
i love the roger and kay ensign, i have been going to there auctions for many many years, but he is kind of getting out of it, and he help the guy who owns the ranch setup and huge and brand new auction facility, they said its going to be the biggest exotic auction in the country. i cant wait!!!

Sorry Robin, thats a roo for sure!

Hey Joe are you going to have chicks at the meetup this month?

Boy I am envious of all the garden stuff you all are getting! With our dry spring and late frost everything is late here. My tomatoes are just starting to bloom. Will get our first squash in a couple of days. Picked a mess of green peas today.

Caught the biggest, uglyest oposumm last night. He was mangey, huge and his head was shaped like a dog! I'm surprised I haven't been looseing lots of stuff to him.
Well my wife got an offer of a job today. Just has to agree and she starts next week. Only problem is its about two hours away. She will have to stay over there ,I really don't want her on the roads that much. Not for sure how we will work it out but will have to wait a while qand make sure its something she wants to stay with before we try and either sell out or rent and move over there. Right now we are just excited she has a job again!

Barely over a week till the meetup. Sure hope Everything works as planned so I get to go!

Is the wife easing ya'll back the right direction?

Like the sound of the Exotic auction moveing to eastren Ok. Can't wait to get to go to it when I ever get back there. Busy day here. Had to run into Nashville to pickup a new filter for the pool. Not a place to be this weekend! They have the country Music thing going on,BonoRoo,and the Star Trek convention ,all this weekend!
Took the wife shopping today. I bought tow shirts and a pair of Levis at the thrift store for $3.25 She bought two Blouses and a skirt for $100 ! Needless to say she didn't shop at the thrift store!lol.Oh well she has to look good for the new job. Her first three days are to be spent at a corporate meeting, when she hasn't even worked to know what she has to put up with! Kind of like putting the cart before the horse.
Back to Chickens, after we got home I moved two big coops around and re situated them and cleaned things up. I was going to take one to the sale but wife said I might need it later! I'm happy to oblige her there!lol Got my first calico silkie last weekend and I am sure likeing it. Hope to find some more.

tonight is a fantastic night. I become aunt mamapoppybee. My brother in law and his misses are at the hospital now! just waiting to hear that i can go hold my nephew. this will be a first for me. never been an aunt befor!
WOW congrats!!! You also have chicklings here at my house. They are hatching like crazy! Tomorrow is official hatch day so maybe we can meet up Sat. if they are all hatched out. Lots of pepping going on in your trays! Can't wait to see what all hatches out.

I see a second little gray feather foot baby running around in the hatcher so there is at least two of those mystery chicks. Guess we will just wait and see what they grow out to be, lol.

Do I strike you even for a fraction of a second as someone who could actually stand by and watch a baby creature struggling and not help it?? lol I'm scared to help too soon though. It's got a huge pip/crack in the shell. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to just accidentally tip that little chip out of the way and see what's going on....
ETA: Peeled 1/2 his shell off and he's peeping like crazy. There's no blood and so far he looks ready, he's been pipped 24-36 hrs at this point. I don't know what the deal is with having to peel so many of these keets out of the shell. The shells are super hard but they should've been able to get out you'd think. I think only 1 or 2 were born on their own.
I'll mark George with a pretty blue leg band :)
Heh, not really. But do I strike you as the kind of person who could keep from begging? :)

I can talk a big story when I want to though

And my husband surprised me with a Kindle Fire a little while ago!! And I was almost out of devices :) It's awesome!

Oh yea-and George the Guinea keet is out and drying as I type. I peeled about 1/2 his shell and he did the rest. I don't think he'd have made it out otherwise, and I don't know what the deal was.

Sweet! I'm so glad George is better now.
