***OKIES in the BYC III ***

This is clover got him afew weeks ago in auction. Very happy we found him.

Love his coloring and how he looks like he was kissed by a snow storm.

Looks like im gonna have to make a trip to lowes in a bit. need a lil more wood to make the flapper doors on the back of the coop! Plus im thinking about turning the top of it into a garden. Need to see what i can find that will vine out. Then im gonna make a draw bridge out of pallet slats. Im just so excited about castle del la coop!

Our handsome pet rooster did something completely unexpected today. The golden retriever x ran and pounced on the Pyrenees to play. The rooster runs over & attacks the golden to protect the Pyrenees. Nothing like an 8 lb roo to protect a 100+ lb dog.

Girls & I worked hard. 2 more buckets full of greenbeans- some okra, tomatoes & squash. Had a melon that was broken off the plant, I knew it couldn't be ready yet.... Cut it open & smells good & showing some nice color so we should have melons VERY soon! Darn squash bugs are getting the best of me. We also seem to have an issue with tomatoes being round & the dog thinks they are a ball. He will grab the tomatoes & run off! Going to have to break that dog.

Carl, or whoever routinely uses Oxine, I have two questions. I've got a Fogmaster Jr. that I finally used today. I used the recommended amount to mist the empty pen, then diluted it by half and misted the pens and over the chickens in them everywhere there were electrical connections. I expected a very soft mist, but was pleased that it sprayed it with a little more force than that, but still very gentle. My question is, "How much should I spray?" I went over everything twice in the empty pen, but only once in the populated pens. I didn't worry about keeping it out of feed or water, since it is also recommended for use in their drinking water. The other question is, "How often should I spray?"

This time I was remiss and didn't clean the pens out before spraying. They'd all been cleaned fairly recently.

I need help from my fellow Okies!! Im looking for a really nice show quality polish for my son. Does anybody have any or know a breeder close. I dont want to ship, but will drive a reasonable distance!! :))

Now that I like. Mainly because I can't do it and am amazed at the abilities of some of our gardeners on here.

I also like to look at people's setup and equipment. I can learn from that stuff, like Carl's gorgeous a-frame tractors and plans. So, I guess I won't turn off the pics after all. It would be nice, though, if folks would be considerate of those of us with slower connections before posting multiple posts of bandwidth hogging graphics, pretty though they may be.

As to people leaving... well, I've talked to a lot of old timers and lurkers, serious chicken people all, who no longer read or participate in this thread, but not for the reasons some seem to think. But I won't say why to spare hurt feelings. Suffice to say we have many different reasons for raising chickens and using this forum. We all get something different from the experience. I do enjoy reading many of the posts here, to keep up with what is going on and do learn from some of the folks. Some people, I follow their posts religiously.

For that, I'm willing to overlook the things that don't interest me.
I. Think everone should fill free to post as many pic as they like it is not there problem that your internet conection is slow lol
