Blanchard was unusual this evening, in that it wasn't very crowded and there were not the ton of birds it usually has. Prices were low, for the most part. The parking lot wasn't full, there were plenty of seats (they have added about 50 chairs) and if it hadn't been so hot and humid - even when in the direct blow of a fan - it would have been really nice. As it was, the mosquitoes were enormous, the humidity was thick and there weren't enough fans.
Jaxon got more guineas than Dean would have liked and was thrilled. Al, the enabler who makes me look like an amateur, made up a bid number and gave it to Jaxon. That child felt empowered! He wanted to bid on the guineas, even after we bought 12, and on the rabbits. We came home with newly hatched coternix quail, about 25 guineas, and two small rabbits.
On the way home, Jaxon asked if Montana or Austin or Stella (Rebeccah's dog) would be at Cement next week. He only was able to see Stella this evening.
Hopefully, Carla will feel better soon. She was ill this evening so Gerald dropped off hatching eggs and some birds, before heading home to take care of her. Since Gerald wasn't there to PO the hatching eggs, some of them went way too cheap. I got their blue copper maran eggs for about $3 if I recall correctly.
My throat is sore from getting too hot at the auction and from all the dust. I am heading to bed.
