Nice. I'm wondering if a 100 watt bulb is enough of a heat source, though.

Thats what kept me from ordering from them....what if the bulb goes out?

It's official... my wife is a saint. We were visiting some friends and this little bird flew down out of nowhere and chatted with her for about a half a minute.

In that first photo of the parakeets it appears mom & dad are too embarrassed by their ugly baby to have their photo taken with it. Just sayin'

You can order them with ceramic bulbs or order your own.

I was thinking more about the amount of heat they put off and whether it would be enough.

I built Grace a smaller cabinet incubator last season (large enough for about four doz. eggs) and we used a 75 watt bulb at first and then a 100 watt later. Both worked fine. The 75 watt ran longer each cycle. The thermostat controlled the power to the bulb and it worked great. I installed a computer power supply fan so I had plenty of air movement.

One thing about the bulb...if it goes out you can tell from across the room. If it doesn't come on every few minutes then something is wrong. If a wafer goes out you don't know about it until you look at the thermometer.
Both systems have to be checked regularly.
