I am so tired of this wind. I looked outside at my chicken pens and my water bowls had white caps on them, now thats windy.

Ha ha ha ha It's been so windy here that my chicken water troughs had waves so big they tipped over the troughs.

I know what you mean. When you get like that you need to have a special drawer in the refrig. filled with all kinds of chocolate! Open the fridge, stand in cool air and pick out your choc. treats, close door and enjoy. It doesn't get the house and yard chores done but it'll sure improve your state of mind!

If I had a drawer full of chocolate two things would happen, it would NEVER have chocolate in it to raid, and I would be the size of the refrigerator!!!!!!

My ex BF installed assorted sizes of cedar tree limbs in my coop when he built it. My birds roost on those, but the new 1 yr. old layers I got from Pepper won't share the roosts yet so they sleep up on top of the nest boxes where it's flat and wide.

You are too funny! I buy Hershey Kisses......that way I only take 1 or 2 of them and that satisfies. LOL I was giving my dad choc. treats for doing so many chores over here and he figured out I had the drawer full of varieties. Now when I ask him what he wants for his snack he just says "Surprise Me!"

Now that it's so hot and humid I find just standing in front of the open door of the fridge works for me. And I have the air cond. on.......

On second thought......if you are eating that much choc. then you should be doing outside work and inside work every single day to keep you skinny.

How big are your roosts? I have large birds and I have to use 2 x 6's (laid flat) sometimes just to hold the weight. I prefer them not sleep on the ground as the moisture causes all types of problems. Other birds get 2 x 4's laid flat.

well some are 2 x 4's, with them sitting on the wider area, then i had some shelves which are about ten inches wide and some of them seem to prefer those.....

Cuban is right. They will do fine on a shelf (just more to clean) but if you do use roost try to keep it larger that 2" to keep their feet from locking up.

I would eat that much chocolate if it were in the house, I never keep more then a serving in the house at a time. I have had to de snack/fat/chocolate my house b/c I am a nibbler, and will keep going back until it is gone!!!!

I'm normally cold natured when it comes to temps.

This humidity though, is about to kill me! I'm not hot, I'm muggy. And... I really dislike going into places that are overcooled when it's sooo humid. The dampness just freezes you!

Put fence around the garden this weekend. We are going to plant more Kentucky Wonder green beans because only half of them came up. That's okay though, we'll have one round and then another that will be about three weekds behind the other~ it will make the season last longer.

I guess our girls are taking a bit of a laying break the six of them have went from 3,4 and 5 eggs a day to 2 and 3. Hmm... I wonder what' up with that?

The other concerns are the height of the roosts and the hardness of the ground they're jumping down on to.
