***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hi all, sorry about the ninja post the other day, got a phone call and had to go!!! LOL Well anyways, things are as usual around here except we did get some rain finally, this weather is so wonderful!Love all the chick pics and Welcome to all the new people!!! And Jack I know your not new but glad to see you online on BYC!!! I ran on to a couple pics I have to share so bare with me here, I thought they were funny!!!! Have a great day!! Lynn

Welcome care bear!!
No city those are some pretty babies!!!!
Also love the watercolors! The girls have been doing water color birds this wk, we have an art DVD series called Creating a Masterpiece. The DVDs have taught them alot in a short time. Thankful I splurged!
The antenna we purchased doesn't use Internet--- it is like a TV antenna. It mounts outside has a cable that hooks to it & then a booster on the inside of the house that hooks up to the cable wire & plugs into an outlet. Made by Wilson electronics. He is installing it today. They use the same antena when they are doing military training in the middle of no where & DH says he goes from - bar "E" to full bars 4g. I know our outdoor TV antenea & signal booster let us get over a dozen channels that come in crystal clear, so I am hopeful this will improve our cell phone reception.
My poor younger chickens have been so cold, even during the day I have caught them huddled up. DD gave them bunches of hay to snuggle in yesterday. 50 degree difference in a wk is hard!
Ooh, that antenna sounds neat! I wanna check it out online. What's the name of the company that makes it?

NoCityBoy-adorable babies :) You're just moving right along hatching chicks!
Here's the 10 little babies that this little Cochin fought so hard to have. Poor little thing, wanted babies so bad she had to hide under a building so we didn't take her eggs, I feel terrible.
She hasn't molted this year so she looks sun burnt and ragged compared to how she looked 4 months ago. Plus I suppose living under a shed like a refuge doesn't do much for your grooming. She sure loves her babies though.
If I keep them together will she always be alright with them? Or does it depend on the bird?
I would think she would be fine with them. My cochin hatched out babies that are bigger than her now and she's still perfectly happy with them.

Why yes! MacGuyver. Yes I did. You must have some ... ??? maybe ... too ... many ... ??? maybe some you'd like to sell to us???

I keep thinking I'd find some at an auction if we could get to one but it seems like when we have money to get to one we don't have the day to get there and when we have the time to get to one, we don't have the money to buy anything. Jeesh. I am going to remedy that if it kills me. Time to start a chicken buying auction fund jar that no one else knows where is ... or maybe they won't even know I have it!!
I've got WAY too many cockerels (14 left after processing four and graduating one to flock beta. I'm going to pick two more to keep and the rest are either going to people who want breeding stock, or they're getting invited to dinner with extreme prejudice), but unfortunately, I only got nine pullets all year, and I need them for next year to make my breeding trios. I've got 15 girls and am keeping 4 boys. Now, what I could do is give you some hatching eggs, or get with you next spring on chicks. Check out my BYC page, there's some pictures of my Doms on there. I drove to Ohio to get my foundation stock from Mike Stichler.

I had a IFP tote that I could not get clean enough to use as a Aquaponics system so I decided to put some scrap sheet metal around it and make a shelter for my new goats. Now that I see this photo maybe I will put in on legs and make it into a coupe. I know were I can get the totes for $25.00 each so maybe I will get some more to make a coupe and keep this for the goats.

They only have pioneer here. Its kinda expensive because the have no competition seems to work good though. Nice fish pics. These are some chicken pics my wife painted
she does good work, a admire folks that work in watercolor.

Quote: well, i have had 3 broody cochins, and most of the time they are fine, except for licorice, who gets impatient after about 6 weeks...LOL!

things are pretty soggy here, and have decided to rehome a few birds- pm me if interested

Hello! I'm in Tahlequah.
I agree I need a few more chickens. I guess I was wanting to make sure I could do this before I loaded up. Ha ha. It's only been a few days, but my babies seem happy and well. I might grab a few more from Atwoods tomorrow.
Atwoods is okay, but if I lived that close to Banjoe I'd have a hard time keeping my sticky fingers out of his baby chick pen!!!!! lol lol lol
