Good to hear from you Kisa! Wish you were closer.
Of the last dozen eggs from the 3 hens that were in with my Mille fleur cochin roo, six made it to the hatcher and 3 hatched. That isn't bad since all the eggs were layed after the roo died. Two of the hateched chicks were layed 8 days after he died and 1 was from 11 days after he died! That chick was a late hatch and is awful small but I am impressed. I have hatched more that 50 chicks from that quad! can't explain it - beginner's luck.
Tomorrow I want to take alot of pictures to update my Mille Fleur color developement plus I need to figure out more of which I want to keep and who needs to go. How did a couple of pens of little chickens get to be this many? I love it though - chickens are the best thing since sliced bread and duct tape!

Tonight when I got home from Maud auction my DH said one of my week old chicks had gotten out of my "cage" brooder and was running around the garage and my dog had alerted him and followed the chick till DH found it. That dog is facinated with chicks. The cat ignores them, don't know if he would ignore one running around the garage floor though, he love to hun the bird feeders.
Louie, the dog, got some extra treats tonight.

You didn't have the gander for her for very long before she went missing. I think I am too tender hearted for birds.
