NanaKat you should really be careful with those ticks, I use Preventic dog collars and put them on my boots intead of around my neck. If you do that you'll never get another tick or chigger ever. The preventic collars are a little expensive but they last a long time. I'm not sure if the regular ol tick collars from the grocery store would work I have this kind at work so thats what I use.

We use the Preventic collars on our dogs and Adams on the cat....never thought about using on my boots. We were in heavy trees and brush yesterday and had lots on our white shirts we could brush off. Half of them were seed ticks and the other half were the white spotted deer ticks.

I used to coonhunt a BUNCH. A friend got me started tacking Garlic tablets, and never had a tick problems again. Of course when I got to sweating nobody wanted to be around me for some reason. Now poison Ivy is a whole nother mater.

You don't want to get the preventic collars on you they are Amitraz and that is some bad stuff. We have some new collars called Scalibor I haven't used them but they are supposed to last for 6 months.

....., but if it goes out half an hour after you go to work, wouldnt give that hatch much of a chance....

You guys make me laugh....florescent bulbs at Walmart don't give out much heat. You better buy a quantiy of good old-fashioned bulbs before they run out.

I went to the site and they will rig up with two bulbs and a second set of the riggings for $35...good insurance I'd say.

I make a poison ivy soap bar that has tea tree oil in it. We use that for baths after being outside in the woods...I'm really allergic to PI also.
You can get tea tree oil at the pharmacy...over the counter and mix a teaspoon into any liquid bath soap and probably get the same effect.
