***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I am sorry, i have not done any canning this year, I hate that I haven't I appreciate how everyone supported me on that, also I am looking for Postal Regulated Shipping Boxes for Live Birds!!! They have to be approved by the USPS to ship in, need either a 3 slot one or 2 of the single boxes I can tape together!!! Let me know if you can help me there! Thanks!!! Lynn
Lynn,
Call me. I don't get on often if you don't have my number get with Nanakat she has it.

Kass I just rob the nest of the eggs I want. The eggs I leave I draw a line all the way around the middle of the egg. Then each day at a glance I can collect the fresh eggs. It is the best way I have found to be able to track guinea nest. They have always continued to lay as long as I leave 3 or 4 eggs.
I'll try that the next nest I find.

9 days ago 2 of my chickens got sick in die

what can i do for my chickens
I am sorry to hear that, what were the symptoms, how old were the chickens?

Stroud lake is 3 miles N. and 3 miles E. of the turnpike. They 2 covered pavilions, you can camp, they have a nice swimming area for the kiddos. There is even a nice Hotel close by also. Also thre is a feed store on the Highway before you get to the lake turn off. This could be a fun place that is 1/2 between OKC and Tulsa.

That sounds great if they will let us do it there with the animals and all! Sure hope I can manage to get there this year!

can someone tell me what is this gathering/POOPS?
POOPS stands for People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap. It is a gathering of us chicken folks, with swaps, auction, food and fun as well as some good educational events too. It was even recognized by some television station a couple years ago.

ok, the big thing with birds,, they are good at hiding illness, so you need to watch and observe your flock, what there normal behaviors are, normal droppings feeding, that all comes in time, this time of year with the weird weather its hard to pinpoint - respiratory is always something to watch for, lethargy can pint to parasites - how are your others acting? are they fluffed up and just standing around? or acting normal- we'll try to help figure it out for you

one chicken eye is running white stuff but its still eating good and walking and drinking water good

ok, what i would do is get them all on respiratory antibiotics, i am guessing, but thats what i would do- tylan 50 is injectable for 5-7 days, what breed are they? if you can give shots, there are other antibiotics that are given in the drinking water, i'll look it up
