***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I think I might have some brain damaged chickens, they run in and out all day long but when dark comes they all geather up in the corner of the yard and i have to put them in one at a time. any suggestions? Richard
Treats show them their favorite treat and that you have it then take the treat to the coop to feed it to them.

I call mine to the coop with a handful of scratch...here chick chick chick chick chick. Then I toss the scratch in and shut the gate behind them. Have trained the entire flock that same way for years. The little ones catch on quick too.

The new coop is in the big pen ready for me to paint tomorrow, install the roost bars and hang the feeder and waterer. It made from four 4x8 sheets of plywood and six 14 foot 2x4s. I covered the roof with tar paper and rolled roofing. I've been painting all the chicken coops white and the rolled roofing is white also. Then the banded birds will go outside. The grass in the big pen is 8 - 12 inches. They are going to be in grass heaven!

I've been picking asparagus by the pints full for several days now...sure hope we get rain instead of hail with this next storm.

Anyone feel those earthquakes today and yesterday?

Will you have asparagus for sale or trade at POOPS?

I felt the earthquake that hit at about 5:00a.m. I was up and drinking coffee. The cats and dog noticed it first. It seemed to go on forever.

Hi everyone...I know I know...long time no visit...many of you will have no idea who I am but hopefully some folks will remember me. I knew POOPS would be coming up so decided I needed to stop by. I have had zero computer access and have only had a smartphone for a few days...so here I am. I did want to let ya all know that Vern and Kayla and I will all be attending POOPS this year....I am sooooo excited! We would be happy to help wherever we are needed.

I did not feel the quakes, but I usually don't

My asparagus has been doing awesome this year too, it is my first year to get much of a harvest at all. What is a good way to preserve it w/o a canner?

Kass you can pickle the aspargus.
Bscott-- I don't think anyone here would steer you away from a silkie. Come to poops & Betsy will have some nice ones for sale.
