***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well, you all convinced me to try fermented feed - I have an almost full bag of scratch that my chickens won't eat. I have a small flock, so I rinsed out an empty kitty litter bucket really well and poked some holes in the lid. Should I keep the bucket in the garage - does the weather getting cool at night affect the fermentation process?

Slows it down a little is all

So...there comes a time in your life when you realize you are paying more for a pair of hearing aids than you paid for your wedding rings.
Got them Monday...at least now I can be selectively deaf by turning the volume down...:lau

I work for Department of Rehabilitation Services - the Deaf and Hard of Hearing unit. Oklahoma has equipment available to folks with hearing loss. Amplified phones, Captel, amplified weather radios, baby monitors, pocket talkers, door bell flashers, etc. LMK if you want me to send you an application for the program. Seniors (60+) and children under 18 can get hearing aids through the program too. A lot of people don't know it exists.

[email protected] is my work email if you or friends/family want more information. :)

Betting some sort of Asil or other jungle fowl type. That wouldn't be a very easy photoshop job. Thinking it is a big bird, but exaggerated w/ lens and perspective.

Similar to this only not as exaggerated.

I remember that picture, Robin. It's supposedly the biggest Malay ever. It was posted with the owner's name at the time I saw it, I think the picture's pretty old. Can you imagine getting flogged by that??

Hello all BYC lovers. I am new to chickens but looking over this forum I realize I have lots of folks to ask for advice. I am just outside Tulsa, near Sand Springs. So far I have been successful with 20 RIR pullets and 7 roosters. Everyone gets along well and little fussing and fighting. Made a newbie mistake and bought 4 very cute chickens from craigslist and they are sick. But thanks to all these post I knew enough NOT to put them with my original flock.

Glad to have you here! so the new birds are in quarantine, make sure you keep them separated for at least a month- you say they are sick, what symptoms?

The polish rooster is the sickest, he has a cheesy matt stuff stuck to his right eye. Have tried since Sunday night to wash it out or lube it up with triple antibiotic cream and nothing comes off. It is ugly. Other than that he eats well, drinks well but has loose poop. Occasionally he has watery poop. Have put him on Tylan 50 since Sunday night. The other sickly one is a young pullet frizzle. She doesn't eat much, or drink her water, is very shy, standoffish almost. Her only symptom is a wheeze occasionally, but she is not well.

Yes, look at the size of the guy's left hand compared to his right hand.
